BITUMAC SRM
is a rubberize modified emulsion. The material is spray
applied in conjunction with other water base emulsion catalyst
through specially designed spray equipment. It can be applied
over damp surfaces and onto lin concrete.

Instant Cured Waterproofing Membrane :
The
waterproofing membrane shall be BITUMAC SRM a two
part spray applied material for waterproofing concrete using
specifically designed spray application equipment. The coating
shall be applied at it’s nominal dry film thickness of 2mm in a
single coat application. The cured membrane shall have elongation
properties in excess of 2500% with a recovery of 95% and have
crack bridging capability to withstand movement within the
concrete.

Substrate Preparation :
All
surfaces shall be cleaned and free from dust, dirt, oil, grease
moss and others materials which may affect adhesion.
BITUMAC SRM
may be use d on damp surfaces or applied onto lin concrete.
BITUMAC SRM will not
bond when applied directly to wet pounding substrates.
Priming coat is required for
BITUMAC SRM
waterproofing system.
90º Angles And Corner Details :
At internal corner or angles, a
rubberize modified cement based material such as polymer and
repair mortar or equivalent may be used to
round off the covers prior to application of the membrane.
All external corners and sharp edges
are to be chamfered with a stone or disc (or performed during
construction)
If
the membrane is being applied over internal corners, it is
advisable to build the membrane to a wet film thickness of 4-5mm
to overcome any shrinkage back from the edge.
Application :
BITUMAC SRM
is applied to the substrate using specifically designed spray
application equipment. It is applied in a single coat by wet on
wet passes to give a minimum dry film thickness of 2-3mm.
The material is applied from the
lowest to the highest point in slow even strokes.
Overspray can be prevented by the use of baffle board or by
masking off.

Protection :
BITUMAC SRM
membrane must be protected from traffic and backfill and
weathering soon after application using geotextile materials,
protection board, fine sand or polyethylene sheet.

foot traffic: Scrim 2250 membrane or equivalent and 25mm thick
protective screed for basement or 50mm thick protective screed
for RC Roof.

Needle punched geotextile wt.> 120gm/m² or protection board.

Cleaning :
It is not necessary to clean the spray
application machine after use. The dip tubes and spray hoses can
be left full of material and simply transferred to the drums of
material even after standing overnight. It is important however
that unused drums of materials are re-sealed to prevent skinning
of the material.
Clean down the spray tips of the gun with paraffin after use.

membrane is in 200 liters or 20 liters.
The
Catalyst for BITUMAC SRM is in 20 liters or 2 liters
plastic pail.
